Choose Jesus

I have mentioned over the past few days about consequences.  The consequence of sin is death.  Thankfully, God did not leave it at that.

As mentioned before, God sent His Son, Jesus, to live as a man and be tempted as men are tempted so that we may be saved.  In order for us to be saved, Jesus who never sinned, took all of our sin.  He was the perfect sacrifice.  I want you to think about that for a bit.

God who did not sin has given us a way for our sins to be forgiven so that we can spend eternal life in Heaven.  Even though Jesus has already taken our sin, it is up to us to give it too him.  We have the choice, accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and give Him our sin or hold on to it.

A lot of people for some reason want to hold on to their sin.  Some think they are not worthy to be forgiven.  Some think that they will not be able to have fun anymore.  Some think that if God is so loving then He will forgive them regardless.

God has already forgiven you of your sin, but you have to take the step to accept this.  Does this mean that you will never sin again?  No.  It means you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. In doing so, you will obey Jesus and do as He commands.  When you commit a sin, you are to confess it before God and repent. However, we are to live in such a ways as to try avoiding committing sins.

Choosing Jesus is not an easy path.  In fact it is the most difficult thing you will ever do. Your family, friends, co-workers, and even people you do not know will hate you.  Satan will continually attack you to get you to turn your back on God.  However, if you can stay the course, it will pay off.

Keep this in mind, if you are saved, this is the closest to Hell that you will ever be.  For those that are not saved, this is the closest to Heaven they will ever be.

What path will you take?
