Consequences for your actions

I find it amazing that in today’s society, a lot of people do not think there should be consequences for their actions.  As most of you are aware, there is a movement called “Black Lives Matter” and that is true, but all live matter and no where did or have these people condemned criminal activity.  Instead, they condemn the police for shooting criminals or in self-defense.  Look, if you do not want to pay the price for the crime, then stop committing the crimes.

Now when an innocent person is shot by the police or anyone, then that person should be held accountable. However, they too are not most of the time.  Why?

The justice system in this country has a lot to be desired.  We will send a mother who steals a loaf of bread to feed her family to prison for life, but we will let a drug using alcoholic go free, probation, even after brutally beating or even killing a person.  When our US Attorney General, State Attorney Generals, President, Congress, Governors, Mayors, Delegates, and Town Council all break the law and are not penalized, it sends a very clear message.

I saw NCIS: New Orleans where a supposedly unarmed man was shot and the Mayors first response was to condemn the police for the shooting.  Later on she said that she was not wrong.  Yes she was and this one piece of script has made me stop watching the show.  I have decided that I will no longer support this type of TV.  You may say that it is just a show, and it is, but this is the type of behavior we are facing in this country.  Accuse first, then prove you are innocent.  Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty.

People are heavily influenced by TV shows.  Take Soap Operas, how many times has a person walked up and hit someone on the show simply because of how their character acts.  The producers of these shows know what they are doing and that is why programs like “Eli Stone”, “Joan of Arcadia”, and Last Man Standing” were all canceled.  My suspicion is that these TV shows and others like it were sending a positive message that the executives did not like. What a shame.

I digressed a bit, but I will pull it all back in.  No matter what, there are consequences for your actions.  You should expect to possibly get shot or go to prison if you are a criminal.  You should expect to have people stop watching your TV channel when there is an ulterior motive for your programming.  The list could go on and one, but there is one that is extremely important and that is the wages of sin is death.

The consequence of going against God is death and you should expect to go to Hell if you are not saved.  However, God did not leave us hanging, but sent Jesus to die for our sins.  Think about that, God Himself came down to earth to be tempted as man to die for something that He never did.  Wow, what a extremely loving act.  He did not say the only way for you to enter Heaven is to be a nice person or go kill the infidels or live in absolute poverty or become a monk/nun or harm yourself.  He said that Jesus shall be your Lord ad Savior and if you can accept this and do as Jesus commands then you shall be saved.
