Equality

Why does the government, especially the Democrats think that everyone should be earning the same amount of money?  The US is based on capitalism, not communism. I am sorry but not everyone should be earning the same. nor should we all be able to afford the same things.

The only thing that all of have a right to do, is to work, buy food, have shelter, and have clothes.  The level of goods and services does not have to be the same and it should not be.  I am sorry if people in the fast food industry think they should be earning as much as a person that goes to college, but they should not be.

California and New York recently passed increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour.  If a person works 2000 hours in a year, that is $30,000 per year.  Say what?  $30,000 per year for working as a cashier in Walmart?  That amount of money might be what some first year college grads earn at their new job.  Not to mention now that there is more disposable income, there will be higher inflation.

That explains it, when goods and services start to increase in prices, that means more money for the government and all without raising taxes. As a Democrat I can honestly say that I am 100% ashamed of the party that I have been a part of for over 30 years.

As a Christian, there is only one thing you are equal in, and that is Gods love for you.  He loves each of us the same, but that does not mean He provides us all with the same gifts.  For example, take the parable of the three servants.

Matthew 25:14-30 New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Bags of Gold

14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

If all three servants were the same, then why was each given different amounts of gold?  The master knew what each was capable of doing and did not want to overwhelm any of them, but wanted each to succeed.  It was just unfortunate that the one who was given the least did not even try to earn more.  What I am trying to say is that people could survive on what they earn if they would learn to spend it more wisely instead of thinking that they have the right to have what the rich do.  Unfortunately, I am terrible at using my money wisely, but I am learning.

God loved each of us the same to send His Son to die on the cross for all of our sins.  The only thing you have to do is sacrifice yourself by accepting what Christ did for you.  Sounds easy, but it is not.

I pray that if you are struggling with Gods love and accepting Gods Son and what Christ did for you, that you are able to put away your pride and humble yourself before the Lord.  While I do not believe that you simply pray this prayer:

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

and everything is ok.  It is however a good place to start, but you need to analyze each word and line to understand exactly what this prayer is saying.  You have to change and basically be reborn.  Are you willing to do that?  I pray that you are.
