I have mentioned this before, God gave us Free Will. Just look in Genesis. God told Adam that we are not to eat of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God did not say you cannot because I will not allow it, but that we must not because it will lead to death. In the very beginning, God gave us the choice and we failed.
Satan tempted God’s creation to sin from the very beginning. Remember, he is the Father of Lies, The Great Deceiver, Wicked One, and Accuser. Now there are many more names for Satan, but these should get the point across. Satan has had a long time to come up with ways to deceive us and they all seem to work very well.
People think they can easily resist the devil. If it were that easy, we would all be perfect. The Devil is not to be taken lightly. He will attack you through many different avenues and all of them will be hard if not impossible to resist on our own.
There is one that has already defeated Satan and it is through Him that we too can win. Just remember, that the closer we get to Christ, the more Satan will attack. In James 4:7, we are too to submit ourselves to God, then we are to resist the Devil.
Most people typically only read only part of James 4:7. They read resist the Devil and he will flee, but they forget about the other part of that verse. We cannot do it alone and if we try, we will fail.
So I ask what will you do? Will you submit to God or will you try to go at it alone thinking you are more powerful than Satan? Will you continue to sin or repent? Will you accept Christ? The choice is yours as always, but choose wisely.
