Hating change

I am a person that really does not like change. I can live with it, but I prefer things to remain the status quo. My wife thinks I am slightly autistic which could explain why I really do not like change.

I drive every week about 360 miles, 180 to work and 180 home. I have the travel time down to about 5 minutes. When something prevents me from making my time to certain mile markers, I get pretty upset.

I know this needs to change, but I have no clue how. Yes I have gone to the Lord and asked for help. I know He heard me, because a lot of obstacles are thrown in my path that cause me to be slowed even more. Not sure this is the best method to help someone become more patient/mellow/laid back, but I am not God. God has told us through so many verses that we need to be patient, but how?

I am sure there are many ways, but from what I have read, the best wait is to force yourself to wait, be mindful of what makes you impatient, and relieve stress. Sounds super easy, doesn’t it? If it were easy, then when someone want to learn patience they would just do it. However, it is not that simple and will take help from the Lord. So if you are like me, then I urge you to pray, pray, pray, and when that does not seem to work, pray some more.
