There is so much anger and hatred in our country and worldwide that is it unreal. We all need to take a step back and look at what we have become or are becoming.
There is movement or so I have heard to remove all shows that demonstrate the police as good people. There rationale for this is that all police are bad/evil. This goes along with wanting to dismantle/disband the police.
Hatred is one of the tools that Satan uses to get us to fight one another and to distance ourselves from God. There is some science to suggest that when groups of people get together to express their dislike towards someone or something they form a strong bond. This bond gives people a sense of friendship and belonging. The problem is that we are hardening our hearts towards our fellow human and it just progresses faster and faster.
When we dwell on things we dislike, it eventually becomes hatred. This is why we are told to take captive our thoughts:
2 Corinthians 10:5 New International Version (NIV)
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Take me, I hate my governor. I think this person is one of the most vile despicable people to ever walk the face of the Earth. I hate this person so much that I wanted them removed at any cost with the exception of violence. I wanted them to have a heart attach and die, get a stroke and become unable to do the job, get the Corona-virus and just die, or just about any thing that would get the person out of office followd the Lieutenant Governor and the Attorney General. Why? Because I let my anger about the direction my state is taking with regards to Constitutional rights control my emotions instead of relying upon God through Christ.
Christ loved even when most of us should think He should have hated. He was accused of crimes He did not commit, He was crucified for no Earthly reason, He was mocked, He was banished, He was run out of towns/cities, etc. Yet Christ said He did not come here to condemn the world, but to save it.
John 12:47 New International Version (NIV)
47 “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
So why can’t we be more like Christ? We can, but we choose not to be. The question is do you want to be like Christ or Satan? You cannot be both. Do you wish to be more like? Then I urge you to pray to God to ask Him where you can improve. My first guess would be to forgive.
