History

I am not a history buff, but there are pieces of information that I know about our country.  My belief is that I really do not care about dates, but more about the concepts.  Why?  The dates to me are unimportant when is come to making sure that we do not repeat the past.

Lets take a look at the Bible, there are no mention of dates, just the word of God.  Of course we could back calculate a date, but is that really important?  To me the answer is no.  What is important is learning from our mistakes.

Somehow we think that we are smarter than the Romans, the Jews, and every other great nation that turned from God.  While all we have is the Bible to give us the accounts of what happens every time we disobey God and do what is evil in His site, we have a more accurate record of what happened to Rome.

Rome government became corrupt and the people were amoral.  There were economic problems in that the people were being taxed to death. There was overspending by the government.  The military was spread to thin with enemies all around.  There was division within the government.  Does any of this sound familiar?

Of course there are those that will tell you that Rome fell because Christianity was now a legalized religion and the belief in many gods was replaced by the belief in God.  MY question is does that even make sense?  If that were the case, then our country should have failed from the beginning, but it did not.

It was not until we started to turn our backs on God and refused to accept Jesus Christ as His son that caused our once great nation to decline.  I am sure some of will you disagree, but you can follow the decline from around the late 50s/early 60s with the social revolution of that era followed by Earl Warren removing Christianity from public school and other public forums, and finally by the attack on Christianity by non-Christian scientists/government officials/schools/movies/books/magazines/radio.  The number of professing Christians is declining.

Who is to blame for all of this?  We who claim to be Christian.  While I cannot prove this, it appears as though we are afraid to speak out.  I am sure that a lot of this has to do with rejection by peers, friends, family, etc..  If we speak out against the Liberal agenda, we are called every name under the sun.  So instead of being called nasty names or being rejected, people just accepted anything that has come along.

Another reason we are in this mess could be that if I accept you for what you are, then you have to accept me for what I am. Since we do not want to appear to be hypocritical, then we just end being tolerant of everything.  However, at some point that will have to stop.

If you think this is new, then take some time to actually read the Bible.  Noah was rejected by his community. Job was rejected by his so called friend.  Paul was rejected by the Jews at Corinth.    All of these people still did what was commanded of them by God and all of them accomplished great things.
