Our society in America has basically become like leeches. No we do not suck the literal blood out of people, but we expect people to work their butts off to provide for those that do not want to work. What is the worst part is that one part of the government, the Democratic Party, thinks that is acceptable.
I have been getting a computerized call from Tim Kaine, the Senator for my state, about defeating the Republicans attempt to get rid of The Affordable Health Care Act or as most have come to know it, Obamacare. There are 22 million people who will be without healthcare if this goes through, is the advertisement.
What they fail to say is how many of 22 million will be forced and how many will be volunteer. Why? It makes the Republican part look like they are evil if they do it this way. However, what Tim Kaine and the other Democrats fail to understand is that I should have a choice, but that choice has really been taken away from me. Sure you will say that we still have a choice, but we do not. It is either get an insurance program or be fined. That is not a choice.
Then we have welfare. I am all for helping those that really need help, but I am not for supporting then while they sit home watching TV or playing video games or spend money like crazy that they never earned. If they want welfare, let them work for it. As I have mentioned before, what is wrong with making people provide some kind of community service for receiving welfare? The Democrats will never go for this because they really do not care about those people, they just care about getting re-elected. However, if I can make it seem like I care, then the people will vote for me.
Then we have the scammers who call and tell you that your computer is sending out a signal and they are there to help you. People do not think for a second that these people have any idea what your computer is doing. They just want information and if they can get a hold of your credit card information or other personal information, then they can charge what they want and there is not a whole lot you can do. I had one call me the other day and I played dumb, but I was in the middle of fixing lunch so I did not want to continue. I told the guy to stay on the phone and then proceeded to tell him to never call again and that he was a scammer. Well he hung up the phone and I think it might have worked because we are getting fewer phone calls now.
Next we have the drug dealers who promise euphoria or relief from the world or something better that what you have now. These people get you hooked on drugs so you will spend every ounce of your money feeding your habit. Again they do not care about you. If you died from a drug overdose, they will just keep on going not once thinking about your death or about the pain that they may have caused.
Then we have identity theft as though these people think it is ok to steal someones identity and cause them all kinds of headaches to get it fixed. Why? If I steal someones identity, then I am not responsible. I get all the pleasure and none of negatives unless I get caught.
Finally, we have the government. They suck what they can out of the American people all the while trying to avoid a conflict. Sure there are times where conflict arises between the government and civilians. Do you really think they needed to do this raid? No it is an attempt at making sure that people do not get too powerful to keep the government from doing what it wants.
My flesh side says take these people out and draw and quarter them or hang them or electrocute them or execute them in some heinous way. Do this once and they will start to get the message, but we consider that inhumane. However, the reality is that is not what Christ would have done. In fact, He was given over to the mob after he had been brutally beaten and led to Calvary where Christ was executed for absolutely no human reason. He did not resist or fight back, but accepted His fate by God to be the sheep that was sacrificed for all of our sins.
While my flesh parts wants to just get rid of these people that are leeches, it is not what should be done. If you are like myself and see these people as leeches on our society, then I urge you to pray and ask God for help not only for yourself, but for these people.
Ephesians 6:12-13 New International Version (NIV)
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
It is tough to pray for someone that has hurt you in some way, but that is what we must do.
