Live like Jesus is here

We all need to live like Jesus is right here with us.  Before all of you get mad at me and say He is already here, I agree.  The problem is that we do not see Him and as such there are times when He is out of ours minds because He is not visibly here.

The real question is if Jesus were physically present, would you live the way He has intended for you to live or would you continue to live how you want to live?  My guess is you would try to put on a false front and pretend to live how Christ wants you to live while He is around and then go back to what you were/are doing when He leaves.  The problem with this is that He is never gone.

Remember that Christ is God and as such, He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.  Therefore, He knows all, is all powerful, and is present everywhere all the time.  Jesus is kind of like the air that is everywhere all the time and the only time it really changes is when we close ourselves off from the world.  Jesus is still present even when we close ourselves off from Him, but when we close ourselves off from Him, that is when we change.

Living like Christ is here physically is not easy.  It requires us to really evaluate our lives and admit that we are sinners.  Lets face it, that can be a really ugly adventure especially when we start to realize who we really are.

I know that I am a hateful person who has anger issues.  I do not show love for my fellow man, but generally show contempt.  I am not a person to say kind words and I love confrontation as I am a very passive-aggressive person that can instantly become very aggressive.  I am prideful and vein.  I give, but I do so because it is a great tax deduction and once I hit my limit I stop.  I got mad at my wife several different times and stopped having sex with her, so yeah call me a jerk because I deserve it.  I spend money frivolously at times.  I am selfish in many ways, generally putting my needs ahead of others.  I act like I am smarter than I really am.  Have a painted a great picture of myself?  No, it is almost depressing about who I am.

With all of that you would think that Jesus would just walk away, but He does not and He will not.  He will be there always, it is up to me if I want Him in my life.  I just need to start acting like Jesus is right there in front of me all the time and asking that ultimate question “What would Jesus do?”.
