In speaking with my boss tonight, who is a lesbian, I found out that her husband was a leach who did absolutely nothing. When their marriage ended, he asked for the divorce. I can only imagine it was due to the fact that he did not want to do anything around the house and she expected help since he was a stay at home dad.
She told us that she was not really looking for a relationship, but fell into one with another woman. Why? Because this woman just simply loved her. She was kind, caring, nurturing, and it was something this woman has not experienced in the 23 years of her heterosexual marriage. You can tell the she was still bitter towards this relationship and she had been divorced for about 4 years.
Think about it, if we as Christians would simply love people as identified below:
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New International Version (NIV)
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
then the possibilities of people coming to know Christ and being saved could be astronomical.
Admittedly, it is not that easy at times, but with the Lords help you can change. The question is do you want too? I pray that if you are having problems loving others that you see help from God. Ask Him to change you so that you will become a more loving person.
