Overweight

Something like 2 out of every 3 or 3 out of every 4 people is overweight.  One of the biggest resolutions people make at this time of the year is to lose weight and get back in shape.  Typically, this lasts for about a month or two then they give up. Why?

I have several thoughts, but I think the number one reasons are that they are not seeing super fast results or they are seeing no results.  Lets face it, when people do not see results in their time frame, they have a tendency to give up.  What people need to do is keep pressing forward following the weight management program they are using and be patient. Cheating on any program is not allowed, but we will use words like it is only 100 calories or how could this hurt or I will start/restart tomorrow.

This is true even when we are following God.  We pray to God on our terms and for things we want. When we do not get what we want or when things do not seem to be going our way or when we think something should be done in out time frame but it is not, then we have a tendency to drop God.

We think that God is there for our needs and that He should do as we say.  This is not how God works.  God is our Lord or in other words, He is large and in charge.  God does things in His own time, not ours.  God will provide you with what you need.

So here is a suggestion, stay on your new diet and exercise plan.  Also, keep praying to God and allow Him to do things in His own time, not yours.
