Praying for your enemies

People these days, and I am one of them, are just so unforgiving.  We all feel like we have be wronged by another especially politicians.  The other day I got very upset at what the Republicans where getting ready to do with the taxes and how it was basically going to screw over the American people. However, I also hate the Democrats as well in that I feel like they want to give everything to people and are encouraging the wrong kind of behavior called “Entitlement”.

Next we have people on the road and how the driving has gone down hill and seems to be getting worse everyday.  I do not yell all the time, but I know I get vocal as though they can hear me express how I feel about their terrible driving.  At times I just want to take a Cow Plow and put it on my truck, make my truck more powerful, and have lots of torque just so I can ram into them and push them off the road.

Then we have the scammers who are trying to con people out of their hard earn living.  These people I just want to eliminate from the face of the planet as they serve no purpose.  However, God loves them as much as He loves me and only He has the right to take vengeance.

Then we have those people who are just bullies or domestic abusers. Lets face it, how many of you have been a victim of a bully? I know I have and I will bet most people including the bullies have been victims of another.  I get really upset when men or women take out their problems on their kids. What did these kids every do to you to deserve such treatment?

It is not easy, but we all need to forgive, love, and pray for our enemies.

Matthew 5:43-48New International Version (NIV)

Love for Enemies

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

I know this is asking a lot, but it will help get rid of some of that anger you have built up towards others.  This is not about them, but about you and by doing this, you will be following God’s commands.
