Self Control

All of us lack self-control. If you say I have I have self-control, then I will have to disagree.

All of us are gluttons with something in our life. We buy way too much stuff not because we need it, but because we want it or it is for a hobby. We eat way too much food, drink too much alcohol, watch too much TV, listen to the news, are too religious, etc.

Some know they have a problem and want to change, but try to do it on their own and fail. Others are oblivious even when they are told because they think they do not have a problem because they can control themselves.

The reality is we are all fragile and susceptible to our fleshly desires or the lies told by Satan. We have the solution staring us in the face, but do not want His help.

Jesus came here for each one us. All we have to do is accept the gift He is offering. I know you may be asking how do I accept this gift. The answer is easy. Admit you are a sinner, ask God for forgiveness, acknowledge that Jesus is the son of God, Jesus died on the cross for your sin, and that Jesus was resurrected and ascended into Heaved to sit at the right hand of God.

Is that all? No, but that is where you need to start. Once you do that, then you need to be obedient and do God’s will through Christ. Doing God’s will is the hard part in my opinion because His will is typically contrary to ours.

Also, God has repeatedly told us to come to Him through Jesus and through prayer. So start praying and when you think you are done, pray some more.
