I travel a lot for work and for the most part the hotels I stay in are pretty decent and usually I am on the top floor. This time due to a contract they have, I am on the 2nd floor and I absolutely hate it.
I try to be courteous to those below me by walking a little more softly. However, the person above me for the past week must not understand that there are people below him or he just is not sure he has his foot on the ground. This person has to be the heaviest walker I have ever heard. It is as though there is a 400 pound person who is stomping above me. On top of that, the drop things on the floor all the time, they go to be late and get up super early. How rude can someone possibly be? You are not the only person that is in the hotel.
I really want to go up and knock on the door and ask them to stop walking as though they are trying to step on a bug and to start walking like your are stepping on sharp needles. In other words, try walking a little more gently. However, I have and probably will not.
Ephesians 4:32 New International Version (NIV)
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
This goes both way. I could be an obnoxious prick and go up there pounding on the door, but in the end what would that really accomplish. The person may stop stomping, but at what cost. Did I display a Christian like behavior towards my fellow human?
I am known for being blunt. Can that hurt feelings, absolutely. Usually I look at it like that is life get over it, but maybe I need to take a step back and consider how being blunt could impact others. Do I think bluntness i still warranted, yes, but it needs to be evaluated to ensure that it will not ultimately cause more problems.
I pray that if your patience is being tested that you are able to overcome the situation. God will never give you more than you can handle. Just understand that when you are able to handle more, God will give you more. I pray that you remember that being nasty is how Christ acted and it definitely is not how He would want us to act. I finally pray that you are able to resolve difference in a loving manner. All of this pray for in Jesus name, Amen.
