What is right by man

Man seems to think he can do what he wants without any sort of consequences.  Take Otto Warmbier, while regrettably he died, he was found guilty of stealing and sentenced to 15 years hard labor.  We were in an outrage over the sentencing for such an offense.

I do not know if Otto Warmbier stole the propaganda banner or not, but if he did then he deserves whatever sentence the North Koreans gave him.  In the US we have a tendency to let these types of crimes go with only probation and we think that is how it is everywhere.  You are in a foreign country and subject to their laws, be respectful.  Maybe if we would come down a little harder on criminals in this country, the US, then maybe we would not think it was acceptable to do something like this in another country.  Did he deserve to die for such a crime, well my answer is no, but this is America, not North Korea.

Man has always tried to do what is right according to him without regard for what God has said through is word.

Proverbs 14:12 New International Version (NIV)

12 There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.

Proverbs 21:2 New International Version (NIV)

A person may think their own ways are right,
but the Lord weighs the heart.

Why do we do this? Is it pride, or that we think we are better then or equal to God, or are we just accepting what the devil is telling us as truth?  Honestly, I do not know why we act this way, but it is destructive and it really does not matter.

Man needs to stop acting on his own and start by doing what God wants us to do.  This is not an easy task as it means surrendering yourself to God and lets face it, most of us think that by surrendering to anyone means we are weak.

God gave you freewill and expects you to use it. He would rather you do what He wants you to do, and will even try to guide you in that direction. However, if you are determined to do everything on your own without Him, then He will let you go in that direction as well.  You may be thinking that God does not love you since He will not force you down a particular path, and that is not true. He like any parent will let you learn through the school of hard knocks.

So you have a choice, will you continue to try and do everything your way or will you surrender and do things Gods way?  I pray that you seriously consider asking God for help and to do what He wants, but do not expect immediate answers.  Instead be still, be patient and read the Bible.
