As stated, there are many questions that people ask God. This is why does God send people to Hell? He did not intend too, but due to man committing sin, that is where we ended up.
Hell was created for Satan and the other angels that followed him. God does not relish in sending people to Hell and that is why He sent His son to die for yours and their sins.
We often will ask as a follow up question why can’t God just accept me as I am. He does, but that does not mean He does not want you to change/repent. Nor does it mean that you can go to Heaven without accepting Jesus Christ.
Matthew 7:21-23 New International Version (NIV)
True and False Disciples
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
God cannot be in the presence of sin, end of discussion. You can either accept that or not, but the choice is yours.
The question you should be asking is not “Why does God send people to Hell?”, but “Why would people choose to go to Hell over being with God?”
There are a lot of people who are upset with God and blame Him for everything as thought they have absolutely zero responsibility in their own lives. I have also heard many a people say they are going to party with Satan in Hell as though it will be one big gigantic rave without any consequences. I am not sure they fully understand what Hell is like versus Heaven.
Hell is a place of torment.. Just ask the Rich Man in the following story:
Luke 16:19-31 New International Version (NIV)
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’
27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
That does not seem like a partying place to me. Seems more like a place where there is continuous suffering.
Now you can continue down the path of being angry at God and act as though He owes you something or you can change your attitude. If you continue down the sinful path, I can tell you where you will end up, but you would not like that answer. So I will leave it to you to guess based on the information presented in this blog today.
