I have come to hate with extreme prejudice large companies. They are greedy and could careless about their employees. While it is the goal of each company to make money, it is also their responsibility to take care of their employees.
I am sure most of you will disagree with me, but who makes a company? It certainly is not upper management. All they care about is the bottom liner. If they are not making a certain percent growth each year, they think by laying off people that will make them grow. What ends of happening is that people are now required to fill 2 or 3 positions working 70+ hours each week.
I would personally tell them to eff-off. If you want to fire people, that is fine, but do not expect me to take up the slack. Go ahead and fire me, who will then take up the slack of my job.
Companies in other countries are required to help their employees find other positions. They cannot simply just lay you off or even fire you and they certainly cannot just decide to shutdown operation. There are a lot of laws in other countries to protect employees because lets face it, most companies as I have said do not care about the people.
I pray that I never meet some of the American company Owners, CEOs, CFOs, Presidents, etc. I would sure give them a piece of my mind and they could definitely use it because they obviously have very little to begin with. Sorry, I know that was a mean dig at the upper management, but I have seen some of the dumbest decisions come from them.
If you cannot tell, I am a bit upset at the moment. My wife may get laid off. While it will not cripple us, it will definitely put a damper into our plans to get out of debt. So I like anyone else in this situation needs to take a deep breath, and trust that the Lord will work everything out.
Believe me when I say this, trusting the Lord is difficult at times. Not because He cannot handle it, He can, but rather it is out of my control. This is the most difficult part. I am under the illusion that I am in control, but the reality is I never was nor will I ever be.
When we get discouraged, we have a tendency to want to blame things on God. I have seen it happen many times in my short life. However, we have failed to realize that while God is in ultimately in charge, for now Satan is in control of the Earth. It is Satan that we should be fighting against and blaming and not the Lord or the people.
Ephesians 6:12 New International Version (NIV)
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Anyway, if you are experiencing anger at your current job/boss, I urge you to pray to God and ask Him for help. Next, leave all your worries, concerns, anxieties, anger, and hatred with Him. Finally, learn to trust Him. I know that is what I plan to do, but I also know it will be difficult. However, read these verses:
Isaiah 55:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
So even though everything seems to be falling apart around you, remember that the Lord is large and in charge and He has a plan for you. Now remember this quote from “God’s Not Dead”:
“God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good.
