In today’s world it seems like people have taken the approach that it is easier to seek forgiveness than permission. That is just wrong. If you know that you should not do something, but have decided you are going to do and you are not going to ask because you know the answer will be no, then you are being very deceptive.
Romans 12:2 New International Version (NIV)
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
At our church there was a young girl who went into her Aunts room and decided to paint on the closet wall. She knew it was wrong, but wanted to do it anyway. So she asked some other girls if it would be okay and they said yes, but she did not ask the aunt. Why? She knew if she asked first that her Aunt would tell her no.

9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices
The simple solution to this and all of the other problems we are experiencing is to simply “Ask First”. Now I know that the answer you may get may not be the answer you want, but in the end, there will be less problems. Sometimes you just have to accept that the answer is no. This may hurt your little feelings, but better they be hurt than you being in prison or jobless or homeless or dead.

If you are struggling with asking first and accepting the answer that is given, then I urge you to pray to God and ask him for help. The path will not be easy because it will require a complete shift in the way you are currently do things, but you can accomplish anything with God’s help.
