Election

The election is tomorrow 8Nov2016 and I know a lot of people including myself are/were a bit stressed over who will be our next President.  Then I heard something on the radio that made a lot of sense.

Philippians 4:6-10 New International Version (NIV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Were are not to be anxious about anything.

Submission to Governing Authorities

13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

God puts those He wants in positions of authority.

28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Ephesians 1:20-23 New International Version (NIV)

20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Jesus is ruling over the world now.

No matter what happens tomorrow, we must remember that it is God’s will.  God has instructed us to submit to the governing authorities.  God wants us to pray to Him to ask Him for guidance.  We must remember that Jesus is in control, it is a matter if we decide to accept that and surrender out life to Him or not.  Jesus is sitting at God’s right hand and is ruling over the Earth.

When we try to control things, all we end up doing is messing it up.  So I urge each person to pray to God to appoint the right person in tomorrows election to be our President.  Not the one we want, but the one that God wants.  Whatever the decision is, we should be thankful and accept the result.
