Now I know a lot of people will get mad at the title saying it takes away from the BLM movement. It does not. To me the BLM movement is fake. Now before you get in an uproar over that comment, Black lives do matter, but so does everyone else’s. There is a specific group of BLM that does not want any consequences for their actions and that is not how the world works and most definitely not what God has told us through His word.
God loves all of us the same, but that does not mean He will accept just anything from us. To show His love, He gave His only son, John 3:16 and His son dies on the cross your my sins, Romans 5:8.
God expects us to obey His commands, be like Christ, accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, love Him with our minds, hearts, and soul, and to love our neighbor as we love our self. He gave us the Bible so we would have a guide on how to live by what He expects.
He expects us to be in the world, not of the world as written in 1 John 2:15 thru 17. Meaning we are here and supposed to spread the word about Christ, but we are not to follow the world’s ways for the world is controlled by Satan and following the world means to follow Satan.
He expects us to love Him unconditionally. To do this you must know what love is and this is explained in 1 Corinthians 13:4 thru 8. This is also part of the greatest commandment as written in Mark 12:30.
He expects us to love our neighbor who happens to be anyone we come across like we would love our self as written in Mark 12:31. This means we need to be patient and kind to our neighbor even if we do not want to.
In 2 Peter 3:8 thru 10, God wants no one to perish, but all to come to Him and spend eternity in Heaven. However, He also says He wants us to enter through the narrow gate as written in Matthew 7: 13 and 14.
God has also told us not to take revenge. I am sure many of you want to take some kind of action against those that have hurt you, but God has said do not do this as written in Romans 12:19.
Now revenge is not the same as making them pay for their crime through man’s law. We are supposed to follow man’s law as long as it does not go against God as written in Romans 13 1 thru 14.
We are also required to forgive as written in Ephesians 4:32, Colossians 3:13 and Matthew 6:12. If we do not forgive, then God will not forgive us, Matthew 6:15.
So while we are bickering over does this life matter or that, the answer is yes it does. The problem is we are too selfish to see that one persons life is just as important as yours. Learn to forgive your neighbor for their transgressions.
Where are you when it comes to your neighbor? Do you love them enough to introduce them to Christ? Have they done something that has offended you and you have or haven’t forgiven them? Are you struggling with the concept of forgiveness and love when it comes to someone who has hurt you? If all your answers are negative, you are not alone.
We all have experienced or had thoughts about anger, hatred, unforgiveness, selfishness, revenge, etc. The question is do you want to change? God will never force you to change. He may try to nudge you in a particular direction, but that is because He loves you. He gave us free-will and with that we can choose our path.
If you want to change, then pray and I mean really pray. Ask God to first show you the areas you need to change. Then ask Him for direction on how to change. My guess is the first step will be to forgive. This one act can take out so many emotions and leave you with a peace that is above all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
