My state flipped and I have to say that I am not surprised, but I am disappointed. This was what I was most concerned about. People right now are so gullible and easily herded. A politician calls an AR-15 a weapon of war and they all jump on the bandwagon.
An AR-15 is a semi-automatic weapon, not an automatic weapon. It may look like a M-16, but that does not make it one. If I hand you a baseball like item, that looks and feels like a baseball, but does not produce the same results when thrown, is it a baseball? The problem is that people are not thinking, they are just reacting and that is a real concern.
This reminds me of when the people of Israel wanted a king to be like other countries and God gave them Saul. I am guessing that not everyone wanted a king, but that is not talked about. It is mentioned that Samuel was not pleased.
1 Samuel 8:4-6 New International Version (NIV)
4 So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. 5 They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”
6 But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord.
The Lord granted them their wish and look what they got, Saul.
I can only imagine this was the case for this years election in my state. People want this and they want that without really knowing the consequences of their wants. So I am sure that God granted them their wants just so they can see the devastation that is going to happen with this government.
Under Democrat rule, the following typically happen:
- They are going to create more victims through their gun reform as they try to restrict certain types of guns, but criminals do not care about gun laws. As a result, violence will increase.
- Taxes are going to go through the roof, but income from taxes will go down because people and businesses will leave.
- Minimum wage will go up and as a result, unemployment will go up since businesses will close and companies will layoff and replace with kiosks or just leave.
- Homelessness will increase as there is no money for them to spend and they are unemployed.
Don’t believe that this can happen, just look a California. It is a vicious cycle that the Democrats have not figured out yet or maybe they have and just do not care.
I am sure some of you are going to say that the economy fares better under Democrats than Republicans, just look at all the articles. But is that really true? Most of the Republican presidents get shafted because they are taking over for a Democrat president who has put all kinds of different policies into effect and the economy is catching up a year or two after the Republican president takes over. So it looks like the economy is being ruined by the Republican president. The Republican president does what they can to turn the economic disaster around and the policies they put into place are then seen by the Democrat president and the economy booms for a short period of time. This makes it look like the Democrat president did a wonderful job of turning the economy around. Only now with everything being instantaneous are we starting to see which political party causes more economic disasters. Under Trump the economy is doing very well. Under Obama the rates and taxes were raised and unemployment went up and spending/job creation went down, then we had the recession and the housing collapse. To combat the unemployment, Obama threw money that the government did not have into the system to artificially create jobs. Under Democrats, the national Debt has risen to such a degree from which we will never recover.
I will pray that the leaders of my state make wise decisions, but I will not turn in my guns. I will move and I am sure many others like me will do the same.
