I personally believe that the problems we are encountering is due to an unhealthy Spirit. We as a people and as a nation need to get it back into shape.
The Spirit is intertwined with the Mind and Body. I personally believe it is far more important than the other two, but that is just me. Even if all three are equivalent, then if one is out of whack then everything is out of whack.
Today’s world completely ignores the Spirit. They Psychiatrist and Psychologist act as though there are only two things, mind and body. By ignoring the Spirit, they come up with names for all kinds if mental disorders. If they would learn to focus on the Spirit, then they could adequately diagnose and help their patients.
In order to heal the Spirit, we have to recognize that our Spirit is constantly under attack. It is not something that can be easily seen or even diagnosed, but once you are attacking it from a Spiritual point of view is anyone able to be truly helped.
I bet you are saying great, how do I heal the Spirit? The answer is you do not. What you need to do is seek help from God.
There are several verses about how God heals:
Exodus 15:26 New International Version (NIV)
26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
Jeremiah 30:17 New International Version (NIV)
17 But I will restore you to health
and heal your wounds,’
declares the Lord,
‘because you are called an outcast,
Zion for whom no one cares.’
Isaiah 66:13 New International Version (NIV)
13 As a mother comforts her child,
so will I comfort you;
and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”
Luke 9:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
10 When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done. Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida, 11 but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.
Psalm 38:9 New International Version (NIV)
9 All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you.
Psalm 103:2-3 New International Version (NIV)
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
Each of the above versus deals with healing that only comes from God.
So where do you start? The answer is simple, pray to God and ask Him for help. If you feel like you are out of whack and believe me, you know it when you are, then seek Him and ask Him.
Will you continue to fill that emptiness you are feeling with sex, drugs, alcohol, money, food, and items or will you decide to repent and seek God? My advice is to seek God and ask Him for help because without Him and the Holy Spirit, ultimately you will seek destruction.
