We are part of the world and this means we are supposed to get our hands dirty and tell everyone we can about Jesus no matter the cost, but let’s face it, people are scared to do this. Why you ask? A lot has to do with making people mad or being accepted by others or being classified as a nut/religious fanatic or etc..
We are not supposed to be of the world. This means we are not supposed to live our lives according to the what the world wants. This is difficult since most people live according to the world standards.
The world does not want you to go to Heaven. You may say ask why does the world care? It is not about caring, but about separating you from God. Remember that Satan has control over the Earth for now.
I know a lot of people that value actors, musicians, athletes, politicians, and the rich. They want to be like them because they want to be accepted and feel they will be if they can just make X amount of money or spend Y amount of dollars that they will be accepted. The problem is, this is the wrong attitude. It is not about being accepted by the world, but living life according to God.
This is not easy. The Bible which is God’s word tells us how we are to live our life. Satan distorts this information and whispers lies to us which we believe and actually goes against God, but we just do not understand. Additionally, we feel like we are missing out on life or God’s way is to restrictive so we rebel.
While rebelling is an option, is it the best one? So you have a choice, obey God and be in the world and not of the world or be of the world. I know that I have chosen both paths and being of the world ultimately ends up causing me issues, but hey I am hard headed. Is that an excuse, no, but reality.
What path will you choose? Will you try to live according to God’s instruction or Satan’s? This is difficult and I urge you to pray to God for help.
